Litigation Attorney (Remote)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a California-based Litigation Attorney to join their practice in a remote capacity, with in-person court appearances required for trials. This position is based in Pleasanton, CA, and offers an opportunity to handle complex insurance defense cases from inception through trial.

Duties

• Manage full lifecycle of cases from initial assignment through resolution.
• Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with clients.
• Conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
• Draft and argue motions.
• Prepare legal opinions and analysis.
• Lead trials as first chair.
• Work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining strong team collaboration.

Requirements

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• 3-5 years of litigation experience.
• Strong litigation skills and desire to try cases.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
• Willingness to travel within California for court appearances and trials.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California Attorney License.

Skills

• Experience in insurance defense litigation preferred.
• Experience in taking depositions and examinations under oath.
• Track record of successful motion practice.
• Experience in developing case strategy with clients.
• Background in handling cases through trial as lead attorney.
