A law firm seeks a Senior Estate Planning Ethics Attorney in Towson, MD. This full-time, on-site position focuses on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of estate planning documents with Maryland and federal law. The role involves mentoring attorneys and enhancing legal processes, with a potential partnership track for candidates demonstrating strong leadership and legal expertise.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide actionable guidance on technical legal questions.
  • Review and quality-check estate planning documents prepared by the drafting team and attorneys.
  • Maintain and enhance the firm's legal infrastructure as service lines expand.
  • Draft legal opinion letters and guidance memos.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and the drafting team to ensure document consistency and accuracy.
  • Utilize modern legal tools to enhance accuracy and streamline processes.

Requirements

  • Active licensed attorney.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in estate planning and estate administration.
  • Strong knowledge of estate plan drafting best practices.
  • Experience with irrevocable trusts is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and systems-minded.
  • Strong research skills and a passion for technical legal work.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar license.

  • Proficient in legal research and document review.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
