A law firm seeks an Immigration Attorney in Timonium, Maryland. The role involves representing clients in immigration matters, focusing on removal defense and complex cases. Duties

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct detailed client interviews and assess case eligibility and strategy.
  • Draft legal documents including briefs, motions, affidavits, and memos.
  • Research legal precedents, statutes, and regulations related to immigration law.
  • Provide sound legal advice and explain complex procedures and options to clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal support staff to manage caseloads.
  • Stay current with developments in immigration law and policy.
  • Participate in consultations, hearings, and case review meetings.
  • Manage a dynamic caseload and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in Maryland, Florida, California, or willingness to obtain admission in one of those states.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law, with a focus on removal defense.
  • Strong research, writing, and litigation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights, social justice, and advocacy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, or California.
  • Multilingual abilities in Spanish and Portuguese are a plus.
  • Experience working with case management systems and client databases.

Education
