Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Wesley Chapel, FL, is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with a focus on family law matters. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with experienced litigators on a variety of domestic relations cases. The selected candidate will handle legal research, court appearances, and client advocacy while contributing to the strategic direction of complex cases.

Duties:

  • Perform in-depth legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support litigation and advisory work

  • Draft comprehensive legal filings, including motions, pleadings, agreements, and settlement documents

  • Appear in court for hearings, mediations, and trials, advocating effectively for clients in family law matters

  • Collaborate with lead attorneys to build strong case strategies and conduct ongoing legal analysis

  • Interpret and apply evolving legal standards in areas that may intersect with family law, including tribal law or related regulatory frameworks

  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain case-related information, explain legal procedures, and provide updates

  • Maintain accurate documentation and manage case files in line with firm protocols

  • Balance multiple active matters with a high level of client service and responsiveness

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar

  • Demonstrated experience or academic background in family law

  • Adept at using legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw)

  • Proven ability to work independently on legal matters while contributing to a broader legal team

  • Strong litigation presence and professional communication in both written and oral formats

  • Capable of managing deadlines and handling a dynamic caseload with poise

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
