Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Litigation Attorney with 3 years of experience in regulatory enforcement matters, including those involving the SEC, telecommunications, energy, and other regulated sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex investigations, defending clients in enforcement actions, and advising on compliance matters. This opportunity is located in Austin, Texas.

Duties

  • Represent clients in regulatory enforcement proceedings before federal and state agencies (e.g., SEC, FCC, FERC).
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct internal investigations on behalf of corporate clients.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, position papers, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams to deliver comprehensive client service.
  • Stay current with developments in administrative and regulatory law.

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant litigation and regulatory enforcement experience.
  • Prior experience working on SEC, telecom, or energy-related enforcement matters preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with a state bar (Texas Bar admission preferred or willingness to become admitted).
