Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a highly skilled and experienced mid-to-senior-level Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will handle complex legal matters independently while providing clients with strategic advice and legal representation.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of complex legal issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on legal matters affecting their business interests.
  • Manage and supervise junior associates and legal staff on assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar; additional admissions in neighboring states preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience practicing law in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Proven track record of handling complex litigation and transactional matters.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in economic development, real estate, or municipal law is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Illinois State Bar Association (or equivalent state bar associations).
