Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a seasoned Personal Injury Attorney to manage a caseload involving motor vehicle and related claims. This role requires full-cycle litigation experience and the ability to function independently with minimal supervision. The attorney will collaborate remotely with colleagues in other locations and oversee legal support staff in the preparation, review, and progression of personal injury cases.

Duties:

• Manage personal injury matters from initiation to resolution, including settlement or trial

• Lead pre-litigation negotiations and settlements

• Evaluate insurance policies, claims records, and related case materials

• Draft and present legal motions, pleadings, and memoranda

• Direct discovery processes, including medical record reviews and depositions

• Supervise and mentor paralegals and case managers on case strategy and progression

• Track and manage key legal deadlines, including statutes of limitations

• Maintain organized case files and meet case handling protocols

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation, with a focus on motor vehicle accidents

• Proven track record in negotiating settlements and handling cases independently

• Ability to coordinate with remote teams and manage support staff effectively

• Willingness to travel as needed (occasional/infrequent)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active law license in the State of Illinois (mandatory)

Skills:
