Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their team in Spokane, WA. The successful candidate will advocate for clients' rights and deliver exceptional legal services. This role is open to candidates based on the West Coast and offers optional work-from-home flexibility.

Duties

  • Represent injured workers in hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and appeals.
  • Manage discovery, including written discovery and depositions.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Perform legal research and contribute to case strategy discussions.
  • Negotiate settlements to maximize client benefits.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California or Washington.
  • Ability to manage own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • 7+ years of plaintiff-side workers' compensation experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with E-Discovery and law programs such as Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, and OneLegal.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California or Washington.
