Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm based in North Pole, Alaska, is expanding its legal team and is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to support its diverse state law practice. This role offers a dynamic blend of litigation, transactional, and advisory work across a variety of practice areas, including civil litigation, appellate law, administrative matters, real estate and property, estate planning, contract negotiation, employment law, and family law. Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and develop a case strategy under the guidance of senior attorneys

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and agreements

  • Participate in court proceedings, hearings, and client negotiations

  • Manage a personal caseload with increasing autonomy and client responsibility

  • Maintain client communication and ensure timely updates and compliance

  • Collaborate on complex legal issues and contribute to team-based case management

  • Monitor statutory and regulatory updates in relevant practice areas

  • Track time and meet annual billable hour goals with flexibility for pro bono and marketing work

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain one via reciprocity or exam

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, particularly in legal advocacy

  • Self-directed work ethic and ability to manage competing priorities

  • Willingness to work in a hybrid office/remote environment

  • Comfortable handling a wide range of legal subject matter

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
