Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney for its Overland Park office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in handling insurance coverage disputes within the commercial insurance sector. This role involves working within the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with attention to detail.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload.
  • Work closely with partners on complex litigation matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, mediators, arbitrators, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and case planning.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Admission to the state bar corresponding to the office location.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation.
  • Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding judgment and ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Commitment to the local community.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar.
