Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Judicial Foreclosure Attorney to join their team in Houston, Texas. This role involves managing cases with a focus on residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters, ensuring the protection of clients' interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases.

Duties

  • Attend mediations, trials, and hearings.
  • Travel as needed for case requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Write articles and present to clients and trade associations.
  • Participate in marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of litigation/courtroom experience; foreclosure experience preferred.
  • Member of the Texas State Bar with all necessary licensing and continuing legal education.
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and taking & defending depositions.
  • Skilled in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Proficiency with Fastcase or Westlaw.
  • Well-versed in rules of evidence and civil procedure in state and federal court.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
