Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and passionate Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of employment litigation experience to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in employment law and be comfortable managing cases independently while collaborating with a team of experienced attorneys.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of employment law matters from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft complaints, discovery, motions, and legal briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights, risks, and potential outcomes.
  • Participate in strategy development with partners and team members.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Second or third-chair jury trials and arbitrations.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.
  • 1-3 years of employment law litigation experience, preferably on the plaintiff side.
  • Proficiency in managing wrongful termination and sexual harassment litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and civil procedure on a state and federal level.
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Effective oral advocacy and client communication abilities.
  • Experience conducting and responding to discovery, taking depositions, and preparing for trial.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to representing employees with integrity and empathy.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar.
