Employment Litigation Associate - Midlevel

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a midlevel associate to join its Employment practice in Los Angeles, California. The associate will handle complex employment litigation matters for employers across various industries, including single-plaintiff claims, wage and hour class actions, and workplace investigations.

Duties

• Manage and support all phases of employment litigation in state and federal courts.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Take and defend depositions, including party and witness depositions.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
• Collaborate with clients on employment counseling and risk management issues.
• Work closely with partners and litigation teams on high-profile and complex matters.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in California.
• 3-5 years of relevant employment litigation experience.
• Experience handling California employment law matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral advocacy and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience at a law firm or sophisticated in-house legal department preferred.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and working collaboratively with colleagues.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice in California.
