Job Overview

A law firm seeks a remote Consumer Debt Defense Attorney licensed in Ohio to provide legal representation and limited-scope assistance to clients involved in debt collection lawsuits. This position is fully remote, allowing the attorney to work from a designated workspace.

Duties

• Represent and defend clients in collection cases initiated by creditors or debt buyers.
• Provide limited-scope legal assistance, including reviewing and editing pro se answer drafts.
• Oversee limited debt resolution programs, evaluate settlement offers, and complete file assessments.
• Option to attend hearings or secure local coverage counsel when necessary.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the Ohio Bar.
• At least 5 years of prior civil litigation experience.
• Experience in consumer debt defense and/or collections preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active Ohio Bar membership.
