Job Overview

A prominent national law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with 3 or more years of experience to join its Tax and Benefits Practice Group. Location

Duties

  • Advise clients on state and federal income tax matters

  • Structure and counsel on complex transactions across various industries

  • Work directly with business clients to provide day-to-day tax advice

  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys across the firm's multi-office platform

  • Manage significant client responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • Participate in associate training, mentorship programs, and approved pro bono work

  • Engage in business development efforts and client relationship management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in income tax law

  • Demonstrated ability to advise on federal and state tax implications for corporate transactions

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently

  • Strong commitment to client service and teamwork

  • Business-minded and growth-oriented approach to practice development

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

  • LL.M. in Taxation required

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law

  • Expertise in federal and state income tax matters

  • Strong analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to handle complex structuring issues creatively and efficiently
