A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join their team in Midlothian, TX. The successful candidate will handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption. This role involves providing legal advice and guidance to clients, representing clients in court proceedings, drafting legal documents, and negotiating settlements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on family law matters
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and orders
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies
  • Prepare for and attend mediations and arbitration sessions
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed of case status and developments
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and manage caseloads
  • Stay current with developments in family law and participate in continuing legal education (CLE) opportunities

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Texas
  • Experience in family law, including handling divorce, child custody, and adoption cases
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work independently
  • Proficiency in legal research and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and reach amicable settlements
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite

 

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in Texas
