Duties

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and settlement agreements

  • Conduct legal research and analysis for case preparation

  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a range of issues in personal injury and workers’ compensation law

  • Communicate regularly with clients, legal assistants, judges, and opposing counsel

  • Maintain accurate and organized client files for internal collaboration and case tracking

Requirements

  • Admission to the South Dakota State Bar (required)

  • Admission to the Iowa Bar is a plus

  • Experience in litigation or relevant practice areas

  • Ability to collaborate with senior attorneys and independently manage responsibilities

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal service

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in South Dakota

  • Additional bar admission in Iowa is advantageous

Skills
