Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A respected Honolulu-based law firm with a strong local reputation is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Family Law practice. This opportunity is ideal for professionals driven by a desire to advocate for clients navigating sensitive personal matters such as divorce, custody, and protective orders. Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, custody disputes, and protective order proceedings

  • Conduct client consultations, legal research, case assessments, and court appearances

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements

  • Handle all stages of case preparation and litigation under the guidance of senior attorneys

  • Collaborate with support staff and other attorneys in a team-focused environment

  • Maintain strong client communication and uphold ethical and professional standards

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Hawaii

  • Demonstrated interest in or experience with divorce, custody, or family law

  • Availability to work on-site and attend court proceedings as needed

  • Willingness to work occasional weekends based on case demands

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Hawaii State Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written advocacy skills

  • High emotional intelligence and empathy in client-facing matters

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and sensitive issues simultaneously

  • Asian language proficiency (preferred but not required)

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence in legal service
