Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

Location:

• Tacoma, WA

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on criminal defense matters

• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents

• Assist in developing case strategies and trial preparation

• Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion hearings and jury trials

• Participate in prospective client intake and share “on-call” responsibilities

• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal support staff to ensure comprehensive case management

Requirements:

• 2–3 years of experience in criminal defense (experience as a prosecutor is a plus)

• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative

• Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team

• Passion for criminal law and client advocacy

• Entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to grow within a high-performance legal team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Washington

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and writing skills

• Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

• Effective time management and multitasking capabilities

• Proficiency with technology, particularly Apple-based systems

• Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
