Job Overview: A reputable law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated attorney to join its growing first-party coverage team. This position offers a unique opportunity to handle complex insurance-related litigation, including first-party property, bad faith claims, and insurance coverage matters. Ideal candidates will bring a strong academic background and practical litigation experience, along with a passion for legal advocacy in the insurance sector. This is a full-time, permanent position with hybrid work options.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in first-party property, bad faith, and insurance coverage litigation.

  • Manage cases from initiation through trial, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions.

  • Take and defend depositions, prepare for court appearances, and engage in trial preparation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of legal strategies and case management.

  • Provide legal guidance and counsel to clients on insurance-related issues.

  • Handle both state and federal court cases with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law in Texas and good standing.

  • Proven experience in first-party property insurance, bad faith claims, and insurance coverage litigation.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage litigation cases from start to finish, including trial experience.

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and client interaction capabilities.

  • Practical experience in taking depositions, preparing legal motions, and arguing in court.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (additional state admissions are a plus).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of first-party property insurance and bad faith litigation.

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities.

  • Strong negotiation and client management skills.
