Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Property Damage Attorney in Houston, TX. This remote, full-time position requires residency in Texas, preferably in the Houston area. The ideal candidate will collaborate with partners and administrative staff to effectively represent clients. Strong research, writing, and communication skills are essential.

Duties

  • Advise clients on options and plan courses of action for successful outcomes.
  • Identify client conflicts and develop case strategies with resolution options.
  • Perform research and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings.
  • Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks.
  • Manage a caseload of first-party property insurance claims from inception to resolution.
  • Provide case updates and legal advice to clients.
  • Prepare and present case evaluations and legal recommendations.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance companies.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • 4-5 years of recent property litigation experience, preferably first-party plaintiff.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Familiarity with case management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple files independently.
  • Based in Houston, Texas (preferred).
  • Ability to travel throughout Texas for court events as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
