Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney with a focus on employee benefits and traditional labor to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice to union clients and handle various stages of litigation, including wage and hour class actions and employee benefits litigation.

Duties

  • Provide general and legal advice to diverse union clients.
  • Handle all stages of litigation, including harassment and discrimination cases.
  • Represent unions at grievance arbitration hearings and before administrative agencies.
  • Conduct union staff and steward trainings.
  • Attend Trust Fund client meetings and handle ERISA-related litigation.
  • Defend employee benefit plan and union clients in administrative hearings and court.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing in California.
  • Strong writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exemplary research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required.
  • Spanish language skills and/or real estate experience is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • California Bar License.
