Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A plaintiff-side litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. This role involves managing a portfolio of civil litigation matters under the supervision of senior attorneys while providing legal advocacy, strategic guidance, and client service in a collaborative environment.

Duties:

• Manage multiple phases of civil litigation from pleadings through settlement
• Appear in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and hearings
• Develop a litigation strategy and maintain regular communication with clients
• Handle and work toward managing a caseload of 30+ matters under attorney supervision
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law
• Draft motions, briefs, stipulations, reports, mediation briefs, and legal correspondence
• Coordinate with paralegals and support staff to ensure compliance with deadlines and file management procedures
• Mentor junior attorneys or law clerks and guide drafting and litigation practices
• Participate in firm initiatives, committee work, and special projects as assigned

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
• Active membership in the California State Bar
• Experience handling civil litigation matters independently and collaboratively
• Strong drafting, analytical, and oral advocacy abilities
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines effectively
• Proficiency with legal research platforms and office software

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in California
