A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL:

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for independently managing a litigation caseload, conducting depositions, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, reviewing and analyzing discovery requests, preparing and responding to discovery responses and pleadings, preparing court filings and service to counsel, trial preparation, and support, and maintaining accurate time records.

Duties:

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload
  • Conduct depositions
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
  • Review and analyze discovery requests
  • Prepare and respond to discovery responses and pleadings
  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel; experience with e-filing
  • Trial preparation and support
  • Maintain accurate time records

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • 1+ years of litigation experience
  • Admitted to practice in New York and preferably New Jersey
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions
  • Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions
  • Capable of independent work
  • Work in an organized and efficient manner
  • Superior research and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to analyze complex matters

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice in New York and preferably New Jersey

Skills:

  • Experience with motion practice and depositions
  • Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions
