A law firm in Akron is seeking an experienced Banking and Finance Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in a law firm advocating on behalf of banks and borrowers. They should have a strong understanding of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan documents, as well as working on secured lending transactions in the middle market. The candidate must be able to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, provide strategic guidance, and assess risks. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication and management skills and be licensed or able to attain a license to practice law in the State of Ohio.

 

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents, including credit agreements, loan agreements, and security agreements
  • Work on secured lending transactions primarily in the middle market, serving smaller businesses and publicly traded companies with debt financing
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing banking and finance transactions
  • Provide strategic guidance and risk assessment to clients
  • Maintain a book of at least 300k
  • Collaborate effectively with teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • 8-10 years of experience in a law firm advocating on behalf of banks and borrowers
  • Ability to attain or possess a license to practice law in the State of Ohio
  • Strong understanding of banking and finance laws and regulations
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication and management skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

License to practice law in the State of Ohio (or ability to attain)
