Job Overview

A growing and client-focused personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced and driven Personal Injury Attorney to join its legal team. This in-office role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload while overseeing a support team of paralegals and case managers. Ideal for attorneys with a strong command of negotiation and case strategy, this position plays a pivotal role in ensuring timely resolution and optimal outcomes for clients.

Location

  • Akron, Ohio

Duties

  • Manage pre-litigation and litigation personal injury cases from intake to settlement or resolution

  • Conduct medical case reviews to assess damages and support liability theories

  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel

  • Review and analyze insurance policies, claims records, and other case documents

  • Draft and argue legal documents including memos, liability theories, and demand letters

  • Provide case status updates and maintain regular client communication

  • Oversee and direct support staff including paralegals and case managers

  • Conduct intake meetings with new clients to assess claim viability

  • Attend and conduct IMEs (Independent Medical Exams), EUOs (Examinations Under Oath), and recorded statements

  • Ensure all legal deadlines are met and compliance standards are upheld

  • Maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing personal injury law

  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable outcomes

  • Strong communication abilities for both client-facing and internal interactions

  • Proficiency with legal technology, case management systems, and general office software

  • Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and work independently with minimal oversight

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with close attention to detail

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Ohio, in good standing

Skills

  • Advanced legal writing and case strategy development

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities

  • Familiarity with personal injury procedures and litigation process

  • Professional demeanor and high ethical standards
