Job Overview: A law firm specializing in product liability and mass torts seeks a dedicated Product Liability And Mass Torts Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing complex cases involving product manufacturers across various industries, participating in high-stakes litigation, and contributing to trial strategy and execution.

Job Duties:

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents related to product liability and mass tort cases.
• Assist in all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, managing document production, and conducting depositions.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and trial tactics.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as part of trial teams.
• Communicate effectively with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar (local Bar admission in Chicago).
• 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably focusing on product liability and mass torts.
• Experience managing discovery and trial preparation at a large law firm or civil litigation boutique.
• Strong legal research skills and ability to analyze complex legal issues.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, demonstrated through writing samples and moot court or trial experience.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to case management and client service.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience handling multidistrict litigation (MDL) and class action lawsuits.
• Familiarity with relevant state and federal laws about product liability and mass torts.
• Proficiency in legal technology and e-discovery tools.
