A law firm is seeking a resourceful and client-focused Bankruptcy Attorney to join its team in Cincinnati, Ohio. The successful candidate will bring practical knowledge of insolvency law and a commitment to helping individuals and businesses regain financial stability. This is a chance to step into a meaningful role within a collaborative legal team that values integrity, innovation, and personalized service.
Counsel clients on debt relief strategies and guide them through all stages of financial reorganization.
Assess client eligibility and prepare customized solutions based on financial disclosures and legal requirements.
Draft, review, and file essential documents including petitions, schedules, reaffirmation agreements, and motions.
Represent clients during 341 meetings, court appearances, and negotiations with creditors or trustees.
Monitor case timelines, stay current with procedural rules, and ensure compliance with jurisdictional guidelines.
Coordinate with internal staff and external professionals (e.g., accountants, advisors) to deliver holistic legal solutions.
Conduct legal research related to bankruptcy codes, creditor rights, and emerging developments in debt law.
Must be licensed to practice law in Ohio and be in good standing.
1 to 6 years of hands-on experience in bankruptcy law or comparable practice areas.
Direct involvement in Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 13 filings required.
Demonstrated ability to handle a full caseload independently and efficiently.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree awarded by an ABA-accredited law school.
Academic focus or internships in commercial law, debtor-creditor relations, or bankruptcy coursework preferred.
Strong writing and editing skills for legal pleadings, filings, and client correspondence.
Professional demeanor with strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy abilities.
Organizational talent and time management skills to handle high-volume casework.
Empathetic communicator capable of explaining complex legal concepts to distressed clients.
Familiarity with legal software, case tracking systems, and electronic court filing platforms.
