A law firm in Belleville is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate Attorney with 5-7 years of substantive experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research and writing skills, courtroom experience, and the ability to manage complex discovery and litigation. They should have a broad spectrum of litigation experience, including personal injury, product liability, commercial litigation, construction litigation, employment law, and worker’s compensation. An Illinois or Missouri license is required.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Manage complex discovery processes, including document production, depositions, and expert witness preparation.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion practice, hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Draft and argue motions in court, including motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and legal staff on case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and legal developments.

 

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of substantive litigation experience.
  • Illinois or Missouri license to practice law.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Courtroom experience, including motion practice and hearings.
  • Superior skills at drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Broad spectrum of litigation experience, including personal injury, product liability, commercial litigation, construction litigation, employment law, and worker’s compensation.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Strong academic qualifications.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Illinois or Missouri license to practice law.
