Job Title: Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Litigation and Enforcement team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with significant experience managing multifaceted disputes involving commercial claims, class actions, governance issues, and transactional conflicts. The ideal candidate thrives in high-stakes environments and brings deep insight into handling litigation for institutional and financial clients across diverse forums.

Duties:

  • Lead components of complex commercial litigation and class action matters

  • Prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents with precision and persuasive legal reasoning

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies

  • Manage discovery processes, including depositions, document review, and interrogatories

  • Participate in arbitrations, mediations, and court proceedings

  • Build and sustain productive client relationships

  • Supervise junior associates and contribute to their development through mentorship and feedback

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of litigation experience at a nationally recognized law firm

  • Demonstrated ability to manage substantial caseloads and contribute strategically to litigation teams

  • Admitted to practice in Illinois and good standing

  • Strong leadership, judgment, and case management skills

  • High level of initiative and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Illinois Bar Admission required

Skills:

  • Outstanding legal writing and research abilities

  • Deep understanding of procedural and substantive law relevant to commercial disputes

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills

  • Confident communication skills with clients, colleagues, and courts

  • Effective delegation and mentoring capabilities
