Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Bilingual Immigration Attorney to handle a variety of complex legal matters related to U.S. immigration. The role requires a deep understanding of immigration processes and regulations, with responsibilities ranging from client consultations to courtroom representation. Ideal candidates will possess a balance of legal expertise, interpersonal sensitivity, and strategic advocacy to serve a diverse client base, including those seeking asylum, facing removal proceedings, or pursuing family-based petitions.

Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth client consultations to assess immigration goals and provide tailored legal strategies

  • Prepare, review, and submit petitions, applications, and supporting documents to immigration agencies (e.g., USCIS, EOIR)

  • Represent clients in removal defense, bond hearings, asylum interviews, and other court proceedings

  • Develop legal arguments and file appeals to immigration and federal courts as needed

  • Assist individuals seeking protection under asylum and other humanitarian relief frameworks

  • Guide clients through interviews and hearings, offering support throughout their legal journey

  • Monitor and analyze evolving immigration laws and policy updates for relevance to client cases

  • Provide legal mentorship and support to law firm consultants or caseworkers

  • Work collaboratively with legal support staff to ensure efficient and accurate case management

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Active bar license in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction)

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in immigration law practice

  • Demonstrated experience with family-based, humanitarian-based, or removal defense immigration work

  • Strong legal research, writing, and case development skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-paced environment

  • Comfortable using digital tools and legal software platforms

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and attention to detail

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in any U.S. state or territory

Skills:

  • Legal drafting and analysis
