Job Overview:
A well-established and growing defense litigation law firm is seeking to hire multiple associate attorneys to join various practice groups, including general liability, auto and personal injury, and tort law. Attorneys at all experience levels are encouraged to apply. The firm offers hands-on experience, mentoring, and the opportunity to take ownership of cases from start to finish while receiving support from partners and staff. Associates will engage in a variety of legal tasks, including depositions, mediations, case evaluations, expert work, and client interactions. The firm fosters a collaborative and supportive environment for career development.

Location:

  • Denver, Colorado

Duties:

  • Handle cases from inception through conclusion, including depositions, mediations, case evaluations, and expert work.
  • Draft pleadings, attend hearings, and participate in trials.
  • Work closely with two partners, a paralegal, and a secretary to manage cases and determine the best resolution for clients.
  • Engage in client communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, with guidance and mentorship from senior attorneys.
  • Participate in in-house Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs on civil litigation topics.
  • Maintain a manageable billable hour requirement, with opportunities for hybrid work (some in-office and some remote days).

Requirements:

  • License to practice law in Colorado and in good standing with the Colorado Bar.
  • Current residence in Colorado or set plans to relocate.
  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on legal writing.
  • Effective research abilities, including proficiency in Westlaw and other legal research platforms.
  • Strong verbal communication and client interaction skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to case management.
  • Ability to engage in a collaborative team environment and take on case ownership.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Colorado State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Strong oral communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Westlaw and similar research tools.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients effectively.
