Job Overview:

A well-regarded law firm is seeking a motivated and skilled First-Party Coverage Attorney to join their dynamic insurance team. This role involves working on a variety of property, bad faith, and insurance coverage litigation matters, both at the state and federal court levels. The firm fosters a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional growth, providing its attorneys with the tools to excel in complex legal matters while balancing work-life flexibility.

Duties:

  • Handle first-party property, bad faith, and insurance coverage litigation from start to finish.

  • Manage cases in both state and federal courts, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and conducting depositions.

  • Represent clients in court, handling various aspects of litigation, including appearances and trial preparation.

  • Engage in legal research and writing to support case strategy.

  • Provide strategic advice to clients based on ongoing case analysis.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal trends and developments in insurance law.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the California State Bar, in good standing.

  • Strong experience in first-party property, bad faith, and insurance coverage litigation.

  • Proven ability to manage cases from inception to resolution in both state and federal courts.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong research abilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar is required.

  • Additional State Bar admissions are a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in legal research and writing.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in handling depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
