Duties

  • Advise boards of education and municipal bodies on governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Provide counsel on student discipline, special education, employment, and civil rights matters.
  • Represent clients in administrative, state, and federal court proceedings.
  • Draft memoranda, advisory opinions, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Conduct statutory and constitutional research and analysis.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in advisory and litigation matters.
  • Serve as general counsel to public entities when required.
  • Independently manage complex matters from strategy to resolution or trial.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of litigation experience with a focus on school board or municipal law.
  • Experience advising and representing boards of education or municipal bodies.
  • Proficiency in motion practice and courtroom proceedings.
  • Experience in state court litigation and readiness for federal court matters.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional presence for advising public officials and boards.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia.
