Labor and Employment Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Attorney with 4-7 years of experience to join its expanding practice in Los Angeles, California. The role involves significant responsibility in litigation representing both private and public entity employers.

Duties

• Represent employers in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
• Handle FLSA and wage and hour claims, including class and collective actions.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions and manage discovery-related activities.
• Draft EEOC position statements and DFEH responses.
• Provide advice on federal and state employment law compliance.
• Engage in labor relations, including negotiations and grievance handling.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of substantive experience in employment litigation.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of California employment law.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Experience with trial or arbitration is desirable.
• Proficiency in managing complex litigation matters.
