Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Mass Tort practice group in Cleveland, OH. The successful candidate will represent clients in court, conduct legal research, and prosecute mass tort claims. This role involves working closely with a team of lawyers and collaborating with paralegals and legal assistants.

Duties

  • Analyze and evaluate medical records and testimonies.
  • Consult and develop medical experts to ascertain liability.
  • Investigate and gather evidence to support claims.
  • Conduct witness interviews and prepare them for depositions.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including complaints and motions.
  • Represent clients in court and present cases to a jury.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Stay updated on medical developments and legal precedents.
  • Guide clients through the legal process.
  • Adhere to strict legal ethics standards.

Requirements

  • Understanding of medical terminologies and procedures.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and produce quality work.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the state of Ohio.

Skills

  • Experience with medical malpractice claims preferred.
  • Five plus years of litigation experience with at least five first chair jury trials to verdict.
