Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney for its Kansas City, MO office. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5+ years of experience, strong litigation and administrative skills, and a passion for workers' compensation law. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced attorneys and engage in diverse legal tasks within a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants on case management.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on workers' compensation law developments.
  • Interact directly with clients to build and maintain relationships.
  • Handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a law firm setting.
  • Proficient in workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to work with corporate professionals.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active law license in Kansas and Missouri.

Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
