Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic team in St. Louis. The firm specializes in handling complex defense litigation cases across various industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cases from inception to resolution, handling client interactions, and providing strategic legal counsel. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment, are essential for this role.

Duties:

• Manage and represent clients in defense litigation cases, including product liability, toxic tort, and general liability matters.
• Handle cases from the initial stages through to resolution, ensuring that all legal requirements and deadlines are met.
• Conduct research, draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings, and provide legal advice to clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm to ensure high-quality representation.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as required.
• Assist in the development of legal strategies for complex cases.
• Keep clients informed of case developments and manage client expectations.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of defense litigation experience.
• Proven experience in managing cases from beginning to end.
• Strong knowledge of product liability, toxic tort, and/or general liability law is preferred.
• Active admission to practice law in Illinois.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in Illinois is required.
