Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its General Liability & Casualty Defense Practice Group in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves managing personal injury claims related to chemical exposures and premises liability. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills and a commitment to exceptional client service.

Duties

  • Manage cases proactively from start to finish in state and federal courts.
  • Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and conduct legal research.
  • Communicate frequently with clients and provide detailed reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal analysis and case evaluations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Attend depositions, court hearings, and mediations.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • 5-7 years of civil litigation and General Liability experience in state and federal courts.
  • Familiarity with risk transfer through contractual indemnification/insurance coverage provisions.
  • Ability to review and understand medical records and scientific literature.
  • Proactive management of a large caseload from start to finish.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to client development.

Education

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
