Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney in Woodbury, NY. This role offers a unique opportunity for a motivated litigator to develop a sophisticated employment law practice while collaborating with experienced attorneys in high-stakes employment disputes and complex labor matters.

Duties

  • Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing strategic guidance and updates.
  • Take and defend depositions; participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Engage in investigations, court appearances, motion practice, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex employment matters.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of employment litigation experience.
  • Admission to practice in New York required.
  • Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice in New York.

Skills

  • Experience in employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage & hour litigation.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage & hour matters, including collective and class actions.
  • Familiarity with traditional labor and employment law matters.
  • Experience with investigations before the U.S. Department of Labor, New York State Department of Labor, EEOC, and state and local human rights agencies.
