Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Litigation Associate for its Woodbury, NY office. The successful candidate will join a dynamic Labor and Employment practice group, representing employers in complex employment matters across various industries.

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
• Communicate directly with clients, providing strategic guidance and case updates.
• Take and defend depositions; participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Engage in investigations, court appearances, motion practice, hearings, and trials.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex employment matters.

Requirements

• 2+ years of employment litigation experience.
• Admission to practice in New York required.
• Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Strong litigation, research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage & hour litigation.
• Familiarity with federal and state wage & hour matters, including collective and class actions.
