Public and Institutional Banking & Finance Senior Counsel

Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel to join the Public and Institutional Banking and Finance Practice Group in the Banking and Financial Services Department. The position is based in Chicago, IL, with potential for residency in other offices.

Duties

• Represent lenders in commercial lending transactions, including secured and unsecured term loans and revolving lines of credit.
• Prepare reimbursement agreements, letters of credit, and liquidity facilities for public finance transactions.
• Engage in municipal finance, banking, and securities underwriting, including bond issuance and municipal obligations.
• Handle transactions involving nonprofit hospitals, universities, and various exempt facility bonds.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in transactional law at a large or medium-sized firm.
• Strong academic credentials and superior interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
• Commitment to client service and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Professional presence and flexibility in work situations.
• Membership in good standing of the appropriate state Bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar membership in the relevant state.
