Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Associate in Sacramento, CA. The successful candidate will join a dynamic Intellectual Property Litigation practice, bringing expertise from a judicial clerkship and prior law firm experience. Duties

  • Engage in intellectual property and patent litigation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive legal documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies.
  • Advocate effectively in court and other legal settings.

Requirements

  • Current or recent experience as a judicial clerk, preferably for a federal court.
  • Two to six years of prior law firm experience in intellectual property litigation.
  • Membership to the State Bar of the office location is required.

Education

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of the office location.

The Sacto office has strong litigation, IP, government, securities, finance, and antitrust practices. Many of the firm's top clients are investment banks, but, in recent years, the firm has expanded its intellectual property litigation practice. The atmosphere is collegial, but slightly more conservative than most Bay Area firms. Salaries are in line with other top Bay Area firms, and the firm provides a $10,000 bonus for all lawyers who bill at least 1,950 hours, with additional money based on three separate billable hour levels above 1,950.
