Job Overview

A growing and dynamic personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its Cleveland office. This role requires a dedicated litigator who can compassionately guide clients through complex malpractice cases while vigorously advocating for their rights. The attorney will be responsible for managing litigation from intake through resolution and trial, working closely with clients, internal teams, and medical experts to achieve optimal outcomes.

Duties

  • Lead and manage medical malpractice litigation cases from inception through trial

  • Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, and motions

  • Argue motions and represent clients in court proceedings

  • Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert medical professionals

  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness prep and strategy development

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external medical and legal experts

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, demonstrating empathy and professionalism

  • Provide updates to clients and, where applicable, communicate with insurance carriers

  • Ensure confidentiality and handle all case matters with high ethical standards

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation

  • Proven expertise in discovery practice and trial preparation

  • Strong negotiation and client communication skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases independently and efficiently

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio (required)
