A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its remote legal counsel team, based in Plantation, FL. This is a full-time, remote position with a focus on providing legal advice and assistance over the phone. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong communication and analytical skills, able to work independently and collaboratively to offer sound legal guidance. After an initial one-week training period in the office, this role allows for full remote work flexibility.

Duties:

  • Handle incoming calls from clients, providing legal advice and guidance.
  • Assess clients' legal issues, documenting all information in the firm's proprietary software system.
  • Review and analyze legal documents on behalf of clients.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence to clients regarding their legal matters.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the legal practice.
  • Build strong client relationships by going above and beyond to engage and assist clients.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar before 2023, in good standing.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage clients and build rapport.
  • Ability to synthesize information and provide sound legal advice based on legal knowledge and precedents.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a variety of client needs in a remote setting.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Florida Bar membership (admitted before 2023).

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and communication abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide customer-oriented service.
  • Ability to listen carefully, ask pertinent questions, and offer legal advice based on a thorough understanding of the law.
