Litigation Defense Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Defense Attorney for its New York City office. The ideal candidate will have experience in Labor & Employment, Professional Liability, and/or Commercial Litigation, and will excel in a collaborative environment that offers meaningful responsibility and career growth opportunities.

Duties

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare motions, briefs, and other substantive pleadings.
• Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and oral arguments.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic case updates.
• Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on complex matters.
• Assist with all aspects of litigation strategy and case management.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in New York required.
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
• Experience in Labor & Employment, Professional Liability, and/or Commercial Litigation preferred.
• Experience handling legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, and other professional liability matters is highly preferred.
• Excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic litigation environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
