Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in Hillsboro, OR, is seeking a highly motivated and self-sufficient Associate Attorney to manage a range of collection and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling a large caseload and demonstrate superior written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. The role will involve direct court interactions, case management, and providing legal counsel on complex issues.

Duties:

  • Manage breach of contract and collection litigation matters from initial demand through judgment.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in person.
  • Draft and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Effectively manage an assigned caseload to meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Address escalated and time-sensitive matters as required.
  • Participate in special projects and additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar Admission in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent research abilities, utilizing both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a large caseload effectively.
