Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Attorney to join their practice in Eau Claire, Green Bay, or Madison, WI. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for injured clients through various legal processes, including record review, legal research, negotiations, and trial work.

Duties

  • Manage a personal injury caseload, including auto accidents, dog bites, and wrongful death claims.
  • Conduct initial client consultations and case evaluations.
  • Review and summarize case records, including insurance and medical records.
  • Draft and proofread legal correspondence and demand letters.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions of expert and lay witnesses.
  • Represent clients in mediation and court proceedings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the legal process.
  • Collaborate with support staff to efficiently move cases forward.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical obligations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.
  • Ability to commute to meet clients as needed.
  • Previous experience in a professional office environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple projects.
  • Client-focused with a high level of professionalism.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.
