Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join its Jacksonville, Florida office. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex insurance and coverage litigation matters, including uninsured motorist (UM) claims, in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, be highly organized, and be prepared to take on a hands-on role in active case management and client interaction. The position follows a hybrid work schedule with in-office and remote flexibility.

Duties

  • Handle and manage litigation cases from inception through trial

  • Work on complex insurance and coverage litigation matters

  • Draft and respond to discovery demands and motions

  • Prepare and defend depositions, and conduct witness depositions

  • Draft comprehensive dispositive motions and legal memoranda

  • Provide detailed file analysis and draft case reports for clients

  • Attend court appearances, including procedural and dispositive motions, and trials

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys in a collegial work environment

  • Occasional travel as required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience

  • Experience with insurance defense and UM coverage issues preferred

  • Familiarity with Florida state and federal court procedures

  • Demonstrated ability to handle litigation matters independently and collaboratively

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and good standing member of the Florida Bar

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

  • Skilled in drafting legal documents and conducting depositions

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Highly organized with strong time management skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a legal team
