Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with at least three years of consumer financial services litigation experience to join their Los Angeles, California office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling sophisticated litigation work at a national level and must hold an active California license.

Duties

  • Analyze, organize, and draft pleadings including demurrers, motions to dismiss, and summary judgment.
  • Engage in e-discovery and fact development.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Conduct mediations in state and federal courts.
  • Appear in state and federal courts on motions and pre-trial matters.
  • Address client challenges strategically and analytically.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of consumer financial services litigation experience.
  • Experience from a regional, national, or outstanding local law firm preferred.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of maturity.
  • Ability to manage a challenging workload effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar license required.

Skills

  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in e-discovery processes.
  • Familiarity with FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, UCC, EFTA, TILA, and UDAP.
